Rental Terms + Conditions
1. Rental Period

The hire period begins at the time and date agreed at booking and ends at the agreed return time.

Late return will incur additional charges, typically charged on a daily rate basis unless otherwise agreed.

No refunds will be issued for early returns.
2. Driver Requirements
-
Drivers must be aged between 25 and 75.
-
A full, valid UK driving licence must be held for at least 2 years.
-
All drivers must be declared, authorised, and present their licence before hire.
-
Any driving convictions, insurance claims, or disqualifications must be declared at the time of booking.
3. Insurance & Liability
-
Our insurance covers the vehicle for third-party liability, theft, and fire.
-
A standard excess applies to any claim (£1,000). This can be reduced with a collision damage waiver if available.

You are liable for:
-
Damage to tyres, wheels, windscreens, windows, roof, underbody, or interior
-
Misfuelling
-
Loss or theft of personal belongings (not covered by our insurance)
-

You are responsible for the vehicle during the hire period.
4. Security Deposit
-
A refundable security deposit of £1,000 is required prior to hire.
-
This will be held on a credit/debit card.
-
Deductions may be made for damage, cleaning, late return, or missing items.
-
Deposits are usually refunded within 7 working days of vehicle return.
5. Fuel Policy
-
All vehicles must be returned with a full tank of fuel.
-
If not returned full, you will be charged for refuelling.
-
For charges over £50, a printed fuel receipt is required.
-
Fuel must be purchased within 5 miles of the return location.
-
The red marker on the fuel gauge must be on or past the "Full" mark.
-
Important: All of our campers and motorhomes run on DIESEL.
6. Mileage
-
Daily mileage limits may apply (typically 150 miles/day).
-
Excess mileage will be charged at the rate stated in your hire agreement.
- Unlimited mileage is included in most VW Campervan Hires.
7. Use of the Vehicle
-
The vehicle must not be:
-
Driven off-road
-
Used for towing
-
Used to carry more passengers than seatbelts fitted
-
Driven under the influence of drugs or alcohol
-
Taken to festivals or outside the UK without written consent
-
8. Cleaning & Waste
-
The vehicle must be returned in a clean and tidy condition.
-
Waste water and toilet cassette must be emptied before return.
-
A cleaning charge of £100-£200 may apply if not returned in acceptable condition.
9. Fire Safety
In case of fire:
-
Evacuate all passengers.
-
Raise the alarm.
-
Turn off gas at the regulator if safe.
-
Turn off electricity at the supply point.
10. Damage Responsibility
-
Wing mirror damage is common. Use a co-pilot when reversing.
-
You are responsible for inspecting and securing the vehicle.
-
If unsure, do not take the risk.
11. Escape Routes
-
Do not block emergency exits.
-
Keep internal walkways and access clear of obstructions.
12. Environmental Protection
-
DO NOT remove sea creatures, shells, or seaweed.
-
DO NOT use solvents or fuel near the shore.
-
Take only photos and leave no trace.
-
Respect the Countryside Code and National Trust guidelines.

15. General Conduct

No smoking inside the vehicle.
-
No driving under the influence.
-
No pets without prior approval.
-
No underground car parks or drive-throughs.
16. Fines, Tolls, and Charges

You are responsible for all charges incurred during hire:

Road tolls, congestion charges, parking fines, and penalties.
-

We may pay fines and reclaim from you or pass your details to authorities.
17. Administration Fees
-
A £50 fee will be charged for:

Each traffic infringement
-
Each incident requiring admin investigation
-

This covers time spent processing paperwork and follow-up.

19. Driving in the UK
Vehicle Preparation

Check that all doors are secure and belongings stored before setting off.
Drive on the Left

In the UK, always drive on the left-hand side of the road.
-
Take care if you're unfamiliar with UK roads or large vehicles.
Fuel Stations

Commonly available 24/7.
-
Rural stations are spaced further apart.
-
Fuel is sold by the litre.
Winter Driving
-
Be prepared for cold, snow, and icy conditions between December and February.
Driving Laws
-
Seatbelts are compulsory.
-
Handheld mobile phone use is illegal while driving.
-
Follow the UK Highway Code.
-
Rush hours are typically 7:30–9:30am and 4:00–6:30pm.

Bus lanes may only be used when permitted.
